Christmas is over at this house

Hi all,

Well, I found out that when Connie gets upset, she can be violent! She hit me twice on the nose yesterday while I was trying to help her pick up some thin, sharp, shiny things from the carpet. I tried to tell her I was just trying to help, but she was soooo mad, she just didn't listen. Let me start by saying, she is sick and kind of drags herself in to the house - well, yesterday she did. Today is better! Anyway, she came into the living room and laying on the floor next to Shadow was the Christmas Tree. Surrounding the tree were all these pieces of shiny things - sharp little buggers too. She asked Shadow if she did it and Shadow just laid there looking at her - I guess that means the cats did it. I haven't quite figured out how that all works, but anyway, she knew Shadow hadn't done it. Along with losing some of those shiny balls from the tree - the tree stand broke so it can't be used again. I heard her tell Russ it was a cheap tree anyway, so I don't know why she was so upset. She said it was one less thing to pack - I don't know where she is going but she was planning to take the tree with her and now she is not. I sure hope I get to go! I would be sad if she left me behind. Guess this means we will get a new tree next year. Sure hope she doesn't want to get a new kitten or cat too! I better go - Happy New Year. Tigger

My Christmas Present

Hi all,

You won't believe what my Christmas Present was! I was totally shocked. First I got dropped off at the vet on Thursday afternoon and they were very nice to me and they all thought I was so handsome! Friday was my present and it was something I don't even want to talk about - how embarrassing for a little guy or maybe a big guy too. Remington - don't let Beth and Mike talk you into this one. I came home missing some body parts and some claws (which Connie says is OK since I was scratching the furniture and walls). She said they don't do that part to dogs, so R you are safe in that respect. I can't believe it. The only good part, so far, is that I am on some kind of liquid today and tomorrow and it helps me to sleep. So I have been sacked out on the foot of Connie's bed on a nice soft blanket. I can't have my usual litter, I have to use shredded newspaper - more embarrassment - for FIVE days. I just want my regular litter back. I guess this is all for now.

Signing out as Tigger the missing body parts kitty.

My present is next week

Connie keeps telling me that I am going to get my Christmas present next week. She is so excited about it and every time I scratch on her chair, she says she can hardly wait!! It must be a great present. I am thinking maybe it has something to do with the chair! Last night when she went to bed, her fingers caught a little tear in her brand new sheets and she wasn't very happy with me. Maybe the Christmas present has to do with sheets.

Little Shelby was out today and everything was fine until about 2 PM and the she got this funny look on her face and threw up. Both Connie and Kellie thought they were going to be sick, too. Connie rushed her to the bathtub and took off her clothes. Kellie wrapped a towel around her and held her for a while. I tried to clean up the mess, but it was just too much for a little kitty. Connie used that big machine with water in it that looks like a vacuum cleaner.

Shelby took a long nap and seemed to be just fine after that. She had been just fine before that, too. Maybe she ate too much.

Well, I got caught trying to sneak out of the house and Connie hurt her back and ankle trying to get me back in - that was a week or more ago. She didn't get hurt too bad so I think I was pretty lucky. She might have sent me back to the woodpile.

I guess this is all for now. I will write more after I get my present.

Saturday night company

Hi

We had company on Saturday and Saturday night. Little stinky butt was here and she wasn't too bad. Connie thought I wasn't too bad either. Shelby and I kind of bonded and we talked and she rocked me in the glider. She tried to get me to play kick ball with her like she does with Connie, but I couldn't kick it back. She wasn't real happy about that but she continued to play with me.

I was a good kitten. I didn't scratch her nor try to nip at her. Connie told her that I am a baby and that was when she started to rock me in the glider. I slept out in the porch just in case I wandered into the bedroom where she was. I thought about it so maybe that is why I was banished to the porch. That was ok. I had my food, litter box and Shadow to keep me company so I was warm.

All for now.

This and That

Hi

It is me Tigger again. Connie has started calling me Munchkin because my front legs are so short that I look like a little munchkin. That is ok - I like the name. I think it means she loves me.

Remington, I liked your story about the cold box. I have one in my kitchen too. I don't get anything out of it (on purpose anyway). I did try to get something out of another piece of equipment in the kitchen but it was too warm. I wanted to put my paws on this big flat thing that came down from it, but it was very warm. So, I just went on my way. I am not sure what came out of it - something sweet is all I know because I licked Connie's plate clean when she put it on the coffee table and headed to the bathroom.

I haven't been doing too much lately. I try to keep an eye on the goings and comings around here but there hasn't been too much of either. Connie had a cold and stayed home most of the weekend so we just cuddled either in bed or in what she calls the recliner. She has a slanket and I can cuddle up in that with her. It looks like a backwards bathrobe but is heavy like a blanket. It is also too warm for me. I like it cooler - must be because I was originally an outside cat and lived in the woodpile. I try to sneak outside when Shadow goes out, but I get caught and sent back. Anyway, it has been pretty cold out, but I heard it will get colder so maybe I don't want to become and outside cat again.

It is pretty nice in here. I have all the food I want and only have to chew on Connie's nose a couple of times in the morning to get her up to fill my bowl. She said I am becoming a good kitty because she can fill the bowl and I don't eat it all at once like I did when I first came in here. Maybe that is because I know Chance has her own bowl and food and won't take mine. I do take hers whenever I get the chance (no pun intended).

Well all for now. It is getting close to bedtime according to Connie. She said she has an early morning meeting tomorrow.

Tigger, the little munchkin!

Hunting Season

Hi all,

I am not going hunting today. I can get in enough trouble just laying around the house!!!!! Connie started rearranging the living room last night and started sneezing - too much dust I thought. But, later on she decided it wasn't dust but a bug she picked up - said she got it at work from one of the guys. I sure am glad I don't work with her - she wasn't very happy. She said she had been very careful to wash her hands good, but maybe the germs flew from one office to another. I saw that on tv one day and it didn't look good. She said she is going to drown herself in orange juice, hot tea, hot tang and water. Hmmmm - none of that sounds like Tigger treats but I might just check them out anyway. We had company a couple of nights this week - Todd's new puppy, Harley. He is kind of cute and just my size if I puff myself up just a little bit. He wanted to play and we did the first night, but the second time he was out Connie leashed him and kept him beside her in the dining room. That was after she used this big machine that looked like the vacuum only has water in it. She said she was glad she had it right there handy. He ate a red color crayon and Connie said she found it on her floor but didn't want it back. She and Chloe didn't think it was very funny. I came around to play with him, but she wouldn't let him loose. Oh well. Maybe next time. I am going to stay away from her as much as possible this weekend as I don't want to get sick. All for now.

News from me

Hi all,

I tried to put up a different picture, in fact I put two new ones on this site. I think I did it - all by myself. I thought I was going to have to talk with Remington about this, but I pointed out the tool bar to Connie and she was able to add the picture.

Some where on this site are two other pictures, but now I don't know where they are. That is pretty scary. The other one is of me curled up next to the old lady of the house. She just let me walk right up and lay by her.
I have been a pretty good kitty since I had pork tenderloin last Saturday. I didn't get sick either. Yesterday I had a lime chip - I should say I licked the salt and lime off a chip. It was pretty good. Shadow came along behind me and at the chips. Maybe that is why she let me lay by her. I had left treats for her.
All for now - I just got caught hiding in the high chair. It seems to be kind of warm so I am going to take a little nap.

Weekend with Velcro

Velcro was here this weekend. I don't know how she got that name, but her real name is Shelby. She says "hi" to me and laughs after she says it. Connie said she says it a lot - like every time she sees me and all the time when I am laying on the back of the glider behind Connie's head when she is rocking Shelby. I had a real good time with her except I have to sleep in the porch because I sneak into her bedroom and scare her. Connie doesn't like that. Shelby shares food with me - cheerios are especially delicious and I can eat a lot of them as they hit the floor. Tonight Connie and Shelby had to go to the building to pick up Russ. I guess Todd got to use "our" 1961 Chevy to drive a bride and groom from Palisade to the Legion, and Russ went there and got it and put it away. Anyway - while Connie was getting Shelby ready to go to town, I jumped up on the table and ate Shelby's pork tenderloin. Connie wasn't real happy with me. Shelby was done eating so I don't know what the big deal was. She had been sharing her breakfast with me. Kellie came out today too and played with me. She lays me upside down in her arms and rubs my tummy. I like that for just so long and then we are done. I slept most of the day with Chance in the bedroom in the sun. It was so warm and she was glad I was there. She must have been because she didn't chase me away! Well, all for now. I am going out to the porch. Connie thinks I will have a stomach ache tonight. I guess she thinks I ate too much pork. We will see.

My indoor swimming pool

I am such a lucky kitten. I have my own private swimming pool. It is very clean and the water comes and goes by using a silver lever on the side (Connie operates it). The water is kind of cold, and the pool is very slippery but once I was in, I managed to get out on my own. Connie was in the bathtub and all I heard was "oh you stupid cat". I am now wondering, as I dry myself off, if I was not supposed to get in there. I will have to investigate it again sometime and see if it is really made just for me. I will let you know how all this turns out.

My new mama

I didn't think it would ever happen, I hoped for it. I got my first bath from my new mama today. If you look closely to the picture, you can see Chance's tongue licking my leg. She did my ears earlier in the morning, but Connie didn't have the camera in the bedroom. I am so happy. I think she loves me. It is very cold outside and we are both curled up together on the foot of Connie's bed. It is very warm. Chance said it is because the mattress pad is on. Ok, so I will accept that. Don't know what it means but if it makes the place I sleep warm, good for it!

Playboy of the month

Hey, look at me. I am the October Playboy. Connie says that is a big deal. Both Connie and Kellie thought this was pretty funny and, of course, very cute.

Oh yes, I really got caught. Connie got up to go to the bathroom about midnight and had to step over Shadow who was sleeping outside her bedroom door. When she came back, she had to step over her again and when she did, I popped my little head up. Shadow didn't even know I was there and she was so warm with all that thick white fur. When I lifted my head, she got up and moved. I think Connie wanted to get a picture but I am sure I would have moved before she could get the camera.

Chance and I are getting along better. I still want to push this friendship, but have been content to sit back and wait for her to really accept me. Connie said she accepted Nala when Kellie first brought her here so maybe she will finally accept me too. I hope so.

Well, all for now.

Friends?

I think Shadow is a little bit disgusted with me. I jumped on her the other night and she barked at me. It was pretty scary for all of us because I was told Shadow doesn't bark. Even Connie was scared.

So, we had a little girl spend the day/night on Saturday. I really tried to be good, but I wanted to play so I pushed her down. Now I am not a big cat but she went down with no effort on my part. I think she was scared because she cried really hard. Kellie was here and picked her up and cuddled her. I guess that made her feel better but she stayed away from me after that. I don't think she liked me much to begin with and this really didn't help.

I have been trying really hard to get Chance to like me and I think I am making a lot of progress. We are in the process of what Connie calls a Slumber Party except it goes on all evening and all morning when everyone is here. This morning Connie was pretty disgusted with both me and Chance as she was trying to fix her hair for work and we were both on the counter in the bathroom eating out of the same bowl. She didn't act too upset because she is glad we were getting along.

I have been sleeping with Connie on the foot of her bed. It is pretty nice but awfully cold - she sleeps with her window open. It was cold last night, but I just pulled the blankets around me and settled down.

So I am done for tonight. I will write more when I have more to report.

Just a note from Me

Hi everyone,

It is me, Tigger, again. I am so settling into this new life of mine. I just love it. I still have not gotten any welcoming signs from Chance, but I can grab onto Shadow's leg and walk around with her. She doesn't like it very much, but she tolerates it.

I got caught licking peanut butter off a piece of Russ' toast the other morning. To say he was not happy is putting it mildly. I thought if it is on the TV tray, then it must be for sharing, but I was so wrong.

Two little girls came out on Sunday evening. They petted me and were very gentle, but then people kept telling them to be gentle.

I have been following Connie around quite a bit and ended up getting left in a room called the utility room. I don't know how long I was in there, but it sure felt good to come out.

I have been exploring the house and am getting used to the goings and comings of everyone. My favorite time is about 8:30 or 9 when it is dark and we all settle down to watch some TV. I don't have a favorite program, I am just content to sit and watch whatever anyone else is.

Better go for now.

My new life

Hi all,

Well, I have learned different things from my earlier post. I know who Remington and Beth are, I understand what a porch is, I know what worms are and bananas. So on to other things.

I have found this new living arrangement to be much better than the woodpile. I get all the safe rest I could hope for and although the sounds are strange, no one has bothered me yet. When I was living outside, Connie would bring this huge white thing out almost every day. I growled and hissed and it didn't pay any attention to me. Well, once I got in the house, it didn't seem so big any more and I marched right up to its nose and looked it square in it. The nose is about as big as my head, but I didn't back down. I learned it is a dog and her name is Shadow. There were dogs were I came from but they were always outside. This one lives in the house with me. When I came up to her, she just turned her head away and said "oh no not another one". That was it - I didn't have to growl or hiss one time. I think I have made a friend. Now onto the other cat. Her name is Chance and she has come out of hiding. She growled at me, but Connie told me that once she gets used to me, it will be ok. She looks like she could be a mother-figure. I will watch for welcoming signs from her.

I have had the run of the house since about 3:30 today, but will be sleeping one more night on the porch. It is quite out there and I will be just fine. So Connie and Kellie (met her while I was living in the woodpile and traveling under the hood of Russ' truck) went to a Scentsy party tonight and when Connie came home, she found me all curled up and comfy on the couch. Connie's comment was WFM (apparently Kellie uses this term when she is upset about something at work and it sounds better than other things people might say. It stands for Work Force Management and they are the people who tell Kellie when she can be off the phones - haven't learned about phones yet). I was nice and warm and for those of you who don't know it seems we only have one couch in this house and it belongs to Russ. I tried to help him eat his dinner tonight, too, while he was watching the news and he didn't like me sneaking onto his plate so he tapped me on the nose with a fork. I guess I won't do that again, but I wasn't mad at him and he didn't stay mad at me so that is why I settled down with him. Connie said I was her kitty, but it looks like I will be friends with Russ, too.

All for now - it is bedtime for this little Tiger Kitty.

Tigger
Hey guys,

I know nothing about blogging (what ever that is) nor does Connie (my woman owner) but she has a friend who blogs all the time so I am going to rely on Remington and Beth (who ever those people are) for help and support.

I became an inside cat last night after a trip to the Vet to get a physical. I got poked and prodded and shot. Got medicine in my ears and ate some banana (what ever that is) tasting stuff for worms (what ever they are). I explored my new surroundings and then was put out on the porch (?) for the night. I have a lot to learn about all this new stuff. My previous living conditions was a pile of wood - totally away from rain and wind. This is so new to me.

I am going to close for now. Connie said she has a party to go to after work. Oh yes, I was there too! I waited in the van for Connie to finish work last night. Then I met one of Connie's friends from work.

I will be back on tonight, hopefully,

Tigger
